One of my favorite times of the week is when usually about 10 or so women call in from around the country to share their stories. They are interested in becoming ambassadors and joining this movement that is happening before our eyes- women yearning to DO something for the oppressed on a daily basis, women who want to experience more economic empowerment for themselves, and women who want to see their communities come to life with this truth: we have been born into the land of opportunity and we are responsible to do something about it.
Story after story- Oklahoma, Washington, New York- of women who have awaken to the larger Story at play in our world. “I adopted, but I don’t just want to be on the back end of adoption. I want to be on the front end. I want to help moms keep their kids,” says one woman. “My husband recently left me and the kids, and for the first time I felt what abandonment and dire crisis meant. It made me think about all the women living in oppressive situations. I want to be their voice,” says another.
God is up to something, and I literally get a front row seat. And so do you! A few Austin friends have a dream and asked me to join them in seeing women in our generation soar to hire heights than we have seen. We are gathering a community of like minded women who want to live authentic, world changing lives. Join me and my friends Jen Hatmaker, Jennie Allen, Lindsey Nobles, and many more for a discussion on what that could look like.
I heard a quote once ages ago, “Give me a place to stand, and I will move the world.” As women stand together, with all of our diversity, weaknesses, and strengths, we will move the world.
