Style Trend Update

We love following our ambassador in Nashville, Renee Dubose, for our fashion trending needs. Here are some great tips she has for spring trends!

Fashion trends this spring and summer are shaping up to be quite exciting as those nostalgic neon tones take center stage despite your attempt to bury the 80’s. At the same time, pastel hues--more pale than last year’s palette--will provide variety to your wardrobe or a gentle alternative to your memories of neon. Color blocking {combining two or more solid blocks of colors that compliment and support each other} will be an easy way to mix and match multiple solid colors. If you prefer patterns, this is your year! Spring and summer is all about oversized patterns in floral, tribal, and geometric designs.

Trends come and go, but your personality should be consistently injected into how you dress. Start with what you have (what you actually like and wear). Accessories are the easiest and most economical way to transition along with designers and current styles. Also, keep in mind that less is more when it comes to trendy components. You want to highlight rather than overstate the trend.

Before you pull out anything hidden deep within your closet, or you head to the mall in search of this eruption of colors and large patterns, let’s stop and make a plan. Combining bright colors, animal prints, large floral designs, and geometric shapes can get a little messy if you are not careful.

When your clothes make a loud statement, your accessories should compliment, but not fight for the spotlight. When you wear a statement piece of jewelry, your clothes and other accessories should provide the backdrop. Although audacious contrasts are part of the fun this year, remember that balance is still key.

    Where to begin:

    • If you have a closet full of neutrals, start with a neon scarf

    • If you have been saving that tangerine blouse since 1987, then look for metallic jewelry with geometric accents.

    • If you like to rock out all white, be sure to grab a tribal patterned tote.

    • If you want to contrast with something feminine, head on over to the florals with our Patchwork Clutch.

This spring and summer is for all personalities. The combination possibilities are endless, but you have to take a leap of faith. Want what you see? Host a trunk show, and you get to walk away with free products! Contact your ambassador for details!
