  • In the capital city of Addis Ababa, many women are vulnerable because of poverty and gender discrimination. As a result, Addis has developed a vast red light district that is home to thousands of women seeking to earn an income for themselves and their families through prostitution.

The Noonday community has a huge heart for the people of Ethiopia and the Artisans who make ourproducts. Beginning in 2012, Noonday partnered with an artisan business that creates opportunity for women who are vulnerable because of poverty and injustice. The following year, we expanded our impact in Ethiopia by partnering with an artisan business that provides holistic support to women working in the red light district. Dignified jobs empower these women to earn a reliable income and to begin new lives. Your purchases aren't just helping vulnerable women overcome discrimination; they are empowering women to keep their families together. Many women in our community have adopted from Ethiopia and we love giving back through Adoption Trunk Shows to help adoptive families bring their children home.
