Haiti is a country that has faced numerous challenges, from government instability to natural disasters. The Artisan Business we partner with works to create sustainable, fair work for members of the community, as well as providing housing and emergency support.

Our leatherworking partners in Haiti have been trained by a master craftsman to create accessories that feel elegant and unique. Whether they are crafting all-leather goods or collaborating with metalworkers to create one-of-a-kind jewelry, the Artisans put love into every cut.

Haiti

The official languages of Haiti are French and Creole, a unique blend of French, Spanish, indigenous Caribbean, and West African languages.

Haiti was the first colony in the world to gain independence after a successful revolution in 1804.

Haitians are incredibly resilient people who have endured many challenges, from natural disasters to government corruption.

Few Haitian have sustainable work they can count on. Of those who have jobs, most earn around $30 per week. This makes it difficult for many Haitians to send their children to quality schools, feed their families nutritious meals, or set aside savings for emergencies.
