Our Kenyan styles are created by talented metalworkers living in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. Artisans in Kenya have long been renowned for creating beautiful brass pieces. By harnessing these local craft traditions, the Artisan Entrepreneurs we partner with are creating dignified jobs for people in a vulnerable community—all while preserving their unique cultural heritage.

In creating items for our collection, Kenyan Artisans use recycled brass from padlocks and other unwanted items to craft accessories that are elegant and friendly to the environment. By harnessing traditional brass casting and hammering techniques, the Artisans craft one-of-a-kind accessories with a timeless beauty.

The official motto of Kenya is Harambee, which means "Let's all pull together" in Swahili. This motto highlights the importance of community and collaboration in Kenyan culture.

Kenya is home to over 40 ethnic groups and 60 languages. This diversity is reflected in the country's vibrant culture, but has also been a source of conflict.

Jomo Kenyatta became Kenya's first president in 1963 after Kenya declared independence from Britain. Today he remains a symbol of African pride and freedom.

Kenya has faced many challenges, including rapid population growth, a 40% unemployment rate, and food insecurity. Resources are especially scarce for rural dwellers, people living in the slums, and people with disabilities.
