This Artisan Business uses clay as a means of empowering young female refugees from Myanmar. Their intent in training Artisans is not simply to make beautiful products, but to help the women overcome obstacles and pursue a hope-filled future. The women receive life skills training, a savings fund, and educational opportunities for their new lives in Thailand.

Our Artisan Partners in Thailand specialize in porcelain ceramics. Artisans paint or glaze each piece by hand, providing for beautiful shade variety.



Rice Paper Decals

To create beautiful accessories, Artisans in Thailand use an image made on rice paper. After the image is placed on the porcelain pendant, Artisans glaze each piece by hand. No two image are exactly alike!



Liquid Gold

Artisans in Thailand use high-quality materials to handcraft Noonday jewelry. The Artisans learn a long and intricate process to form every porcelain piece and paint every gold stroke by hand.

Thailand is a country in Southeast Asia known for tropical scenery, ancient temples, and a rich cultural landscape and history.

The Thai people are comprised of dozens of ethnic groups, each with their own languages and ways of life.

While Thailand has a greater percentage of women in senior leadership positions than most countries in the Asia-Pacific region, many women and girls in rural areas of the country, as well as migrant women, are affected by poverty, lack of opportunity, discrimination, exploitation, and violence.

Thai women are often discouraged from working outside of the home and may face discriminatory practices in the workplace, including unfair treatment and limited access to resources. This heightens the need for safe, reliable job opportunities to further economic empowerment and gender equality in the region.
